I have that same jack, it’s very nice

Those little jacks are great to keep around for stuff like ball joints, shocks, and lining up transmissions.

Just picked up this one a couple weeks ago for $60:

Seems well built. Only the 1.5T model though, luckily my car is pretty light.

Nice for a litte while. But do yourself a favor and buy the extended “service” plan on it. They aren't that durable. I have the two and three ton HF jacks like that.

Huh, really? We have a low profile one at the shop that we abuse mercilessly. All is well after two years so far.

The Harbor Freight jacks are fucking awesome! I got a 2.5-ton jack for $70 a couple years ago and it’s still going strong

The low profile one with the foot pump is the bees knees

I have a non-HF/Pittsburg lo-pro jack (it’s some Chinese off-brand, IIRC), and I’ve been eyeing those “Rapid Pump” models lately. As much as I use my floor jack, a dual-piston one sure sounds nice...

It is. I use the one at the shop so often I was immensely annoyed with how slow my little black walmart jack is. Now I can have a car in the air in 15 seconds, especially since the easy-rolling wheels make positioning easy.

I’ll have to put one on my list for whenever my current one fails, or maybe if there’s some irresistibly good sale price, I’ll jump on it.

For now, my current floor jack still works fine, and was already a big upgrade from the little cheapo one I used to have (I started out with one that was probably the very same model as your little black jack there).

I have been through a couple in a short period of time. Fortunately the service plan covered them but I couldn't recommend anyone buy one of these cheap pieces of junk without knowing what they are getting in to.

I have that exact jack. Probably bought it 3 or 4 years ago. I use it fairly frequently, do no maintenance or cleaning on it, and it always works just fine. I can imagine pricier jacks being nicer with the the raising and lowering smoothness, but I just don’t use it quite enough to care.

This is the only harbor freight tool I still use.

I have the low profile version of that jack. Ive had it for several years and it works great. I love how sensitive it is. I can very gently lower my car.

The jack point on my wife's Fit is in the middle of the car, behind the transmission. To get to it you have to snake the jack in behind the front wheel at an angle. If you had one of those little jacks it would never work. I'm very glad my brother in law has a big floor jack like that.

I really wanted the low profile one but it was twice as expensive :(

The one I have was like $80.
